Triad Isotopes Announces the Acquisition of Birmingham Nuclear Pharmacy, Inc.

Triad Isotopes continues to grow its national footprint with the acquisition of the Birmingham Nuclear Pharmacy, Inc.

ORLANDO, Florida, October 3, 2007 - Triad Isotopes, Inc. headquartered in Orlando, Florida highlighted Nuclear Medicine Week with the announcement it had acquired Birmingham Nuclear Pharmacy, Inc. of Birmingham Alabama. This acquisition continues Triad Isotope’s aggressive growth and investment in the radiopharmaceutical industry. With this acquisition, Triad Isotopes now owns and operates 19 nuclear pharmacies and 5 cyclotrons located throughout the southeast.

Birmingham Nuclear Pharmacy has been providing nuclear pharmacy services to the local medical community since 2004. The company was founded by Donald Brewer and has an experienced team of 20 employees. Mr. Brewer will stay with the organization with responsibility for Birmingham Nuclear Pharmacy.

Dom Meffe, President and CEO of Triad Isotopes stated, “Donnie Brewer and his outstanding team have quickly become the market leading provider in Birmingham by providing exceptional service to their customers. I am excited about them joining Triad and providing them additional resources to continue their strong growth and expand beyond their current service area.”

The Triad Isotopes business model combines the best independent, local nuclear pharmacies and cyclotrons with the capital and management experience of a nationwide corporation enabling the company to continually invest in and improve its procedures, equipment and staff. These resources are then deployed across the Triad network of facilities so they can increase their focus on patient care and customer service in the communities they serve. Triad recently opened the Triad Center for Clinical Studies which is dedicated to the advancement of nuclear medicine through academic based research, publishing and training. Triad also operates a Brachytherapy division, which is one of the nation’s largest providers of pre-loaded needles and strands for this innovative form of internal radiotherapy.

A nuclear pharmacy is a pharmacy that compounds and distributes radiopharmaceuticals used primarily in imaging procedures for cardiac and cancer diagnosis. Cyclotrons are utilized to produce FDG (Fluorodeoxyglucose) a short-lived positron-emitting isotope suitable for PET (Positron Emission Tomography), an imaging technology that can be used to assess tissue biochemistry.
