As the use of Nuclear Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine Imaging procedures grow in the Outpatient Imaging Center (OIC) setting,
an "increasing" number of states, as well as private payers are requiring ICANL accreditation for reimbursement. For example, United
Healthcare, Oxford Health Plans, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and
Care Core National all have policies requiring their provider facilities be accredited.

There are two levels of service programs available:
Gold: Requires greater participation by you in the preparation of the application and supporting documentation.
NMD will review all of the work involved and will perform one site visit.
Platinum: NMD will prepare, complete and submit your entire application and supporting documentation.

 Dr. Massimiliano Szulc, Ph. D
Dr. Massimiliano Szulc, Ph. D. received his doctorate in Nuclear Engineering from the
Politechnic Institute of Milan, Italy, followed by a post graduate degree in Health Science and
Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a program offered in conjunction with
the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at
NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in NewYork.
Dr. Szulc is the Director of Accreditation Services and Programs at NMD. In this role, he has extensive experience in performing
ICANL and ACR accreditations and is recognized nationally for his expertise in the field of Nuclear Cardiology. In addition,
Dr. Szulc will oversee NMD’s development of specialized accreditation programs and services to be offered by NMD in the future.
